Sorrento, Capri & the Countryside |
Leaving Sorrento to get on the boat to go to the island of Capri |
View of Vesuvius on the boat on the way
to Capri. |
As our ferry was about to land at the
dock, I noticed a bunch of stuff next to the pier. |
It turned out to be thousands and
thousands of jellyfish!

Everywhere you look on Capri, it is like
you are looking at a postcard. |
We got on the chairlift to go to the top
of Mount Solara. At the top is a 360 degree view of the island. |
12 minutes up, and 12 minutes down. A
little nerve wracking. |
Terraces were all the way up the
mountainside. |

|
Statue of Emperor Augustus at the top
of Mount Solaro. We didn't know who it was so we nicknamed him Steve. |
|
|
On the way down. |

At the top of this steep cliff is the
Gerber Mansion. Yep, baby food. |
Zoom in of Gerber Mansion.

The symbol of Capri- Rocks of Faraglioni |

|
Walking around Capri, we came to this
HUGE cactus.
|
It was over 2 stories tall! |
I can't figure this one out. We were
walking along and there it was... Tattoo! Herve Villechaize! Go figure.

The countryside on the way back to
Rome to end our trip. Incredible places on cliff sides.

Nettuno & Anzio
Our last major stop on our trip was the
Sicily-Rome American Cemetery & Memorial.
The cemetery contains 7,861 graves of
fallen military including 490 unknown soldiers.
We went to visit the grave of an old
friend of Ramsey's. He had no family left when he died in the battle of
Cassino. His name was Frances R. Sinclair. |
|
Barry & I would like to thank Dad for
giving us this opportunity for this 'Trip of a Lifetime'. We really had a
wonderful time. We do also think that it is just wrong that he had more
energy than all of us put together! |
