1986 MR-2 Teri's 'Little Rocket Ship' Great little car. Teri purchased this car in 1995 when it was white. We repainted it white then. In 1996 it was almost burned up in a barn fire. The car was sitting in front of our barn when the barn caught fire. The front end of the car melted it was so hot. It was repainted white again. In 2002 we painted it Red, White & Blue for John to drive while he was in Pennsylvania. We sold it in 2005. Maybe the new owner will put it back on the road.
We painted this over Thanksgiving
weekend, 2001. We did this job in less than one day, actually 23 hours. We
started on it on Wednesday night, painting the Blue. The next morning,
Thursday, we painted the Red, turned on the oven and went to Thanksgiving
dinner. When we came back, Teri applied the stars and Barry reinstalled
the lenses and other small parts. And
out of the paint booth it went.
This car was a big hit wherever we traveled. |
